Launch of SEEN in Health
We are pleased to announce the launch of SEEN in Health on 11 May 2024.
SEEN in Health is a newly formed staff network for those employed in health settings. Set up in a similar way to other SEENs based in public services and other sectors, we are a staff network representing the protected characteristic of sex. We are committed to promoting and supporting sex equality and equity in our workplaces. We are already a broad collective from across the United Kingdom and comprise clinical and non-clinical NHS employees at all grades.
Our mission is to create an environment in the NHS where staff can feel safe and encouraged to discuss issues related to the protected characteristic of sex – speaking up for themselves as employees and on behalf of patients.
We believe that sex matters for staff working within the NHS. Acknowledging this enables them to:
fulfil their potential and thrive within their workplaces
effectively deliver patient-centred, evidence-based healthcare
We look forward to supporting our colleagues, and our employers, in creating a fully inclusive environment for our staff, so we are best able to treat our patients.
